Hello!

I am Amelia Johnson, an art education student attending the University of Wisconsin Stout. I am from Minnetonka, Minnesota. I am passionate about working with all individuals through teaching art. Art has helped me to navigate through life. I have grown as an artist by embracing new materials and subject matter. I specialize in the use of watercolor and sculpture. I am inspired to guide students through their lives. I strive to help students see their creative abilities and strengths in and out of the classroom. I empower my students through a student-directed approach, allowing students to think for themselves and embrace their interests through the visual arts. I value community within the classroom and school, ensuring connections are made with all. I look forward to making a difference in students lives guiding them to be independent creative individuals.

"Creativity belongs to the artist in each of us.

To create means to relate.

The root meaning of the word art is “to fit together” and we all do this every day.

Not all of us are painters but we are all artists.

Each time we fit things together we are creating – whether it is to make a loaf of bread, a child, a day."
